BUY AUSTRALIAN PAPER CHALLENGE EXTENDED TO GOVERNMENT DEPARTMENTS

Federal Member for Gippsland Darren Chester has extended a challenge to MPs, Senators and government departments using imported paper in their offices to switch to Australian Paper.
 
Mr Chester told Federal Parliament he found it “appalling” that there was a long list of Australian government departments which do not source their office requisites from Australian-made paper.
 
“In weeks to come, I will start naming the departments. There is a long list of Australian government departments that continue to use imported paper,” Mr Chester said.

CHESTER WELCOMES FINAL FUNDING FOR NEW SALE SPECIALIST SCHOOL

The Nationals Member for Gippsland Darren Chester has welcomed the announcement of $7.6 million funding for a purpose-built Sale Specialist School.

Mr Chester said today’s announcement was a win for the community and overdue recognition of the need to provide better facilities for the young people with disabilities.

He said the Sale Specialist School Parents Action Group (SPAG) had led a long and tiring campaign to secure the funding.

‘BEST CHANCE YET’ FOR FEDERAL MID 2030 FUNDING

Federal MP Darren Chester has welcomed the new Agricultural Competitiveness White Paper and predicted it will deliver benefits to farming families across Gippsland.

Mr Chester said the focus on improving returns to farmers and opening up new markets around the world would give farmers more confidence to invest in the future of their businesses.

"The obvious highlight for Gippsland is the creation of the National Water Infrastructure Development Fund with $500 million for water infrastructure, including dams,” Mr Chester said.
