LANDCARE PROJECT TO PROTECT RAINFOREST AREAS NEAR LAKE TYERS

December 23, 2015

A patch of protected littoral rainforest at Lake Tyers Beach will be restored with the help of local community groups.

Member for Gippsland Darren Chester said the Federal Government had allocated $20,500 under the National Landcare Programme to the Lake Tyers Coastal Rainforest Recovery project, which will restore highly-degraded areas of foreshore.

The revegetation project will be led by East Gippsland Rainforest Conservation Management Network (EGRCMN), in partnership with East Gippsland Catchment Management Authority (EGCMA).
