Mobile phone coverage in Gippsland will be improved under a Coalition Government, according to The Nationals Member for Gippsland Darren Chester.
The Coalition has announced a $30 million mobile phone black-spots program to provide improved access to reliable mobile phone services.
Mr Chester said The Nationals would work with the telecommunications industry and communities to target areas that have inadequate mobile phone coverage in Gippsland.
“By reducing black-spots we can make sure that residents in regional communities stay connected at all times and most importantly, in times of emergency,” Mr Chester said.
“If a Coalition Government is elected, I will be working hard to make sure that we receive a fair share of the $30 million program to improve mobile services in Gippsland.”
