NEW AGED CARE SERVICE SET TO OPEN

November 2, 2011

A new 90 bed aged care facility is on track to open in Bairnsdale before Christmas.

The Nationals Member for Gippsland Darren Chester inspected the facility this week and commended Croft Developments and Innovative Care for their investment in the East Gippsland community.

“This is a $15 million development which increases the range of options for aged care in our region,” Mr Chester said.

“The developers have made every attempt to provide opportunities for local tradespeople and I was impressed to see many locals working on site during my visit this week.

“Around 35 tradespeople are working on this project on an average day to get the facility built by the end of November – and that’s a real boost to our local economy.”

Mr Chester said the Eastwood Community Aged Care facility would provide a mix of high care, low care and dementia specific services. All rooms have an ensuite and many open directly onto gardens and courtyards.

“I’m told the facility is on track for completion within the next four to six weeks and will be able to accept residents before Christmas,” Mr Chester said.

Anyone interested in more details prior to the facility opening should contact Innovative Care head office on 03 9581 0100 or email reception@croft.com.au
