AGRICULTURE FORUM IN STRATFORD NEXT THURSDAY

Shadow Agriculture and Food Security Minister John Cobb will host a forum in Stratford next Thursday, August 1, to discuss the future of agriculture in Australia.
Mr Cobb will be touring the region with The Nationals Member for Gippsland Darren Chester and will be outlining the Coalition’s agriculture and food security policies ahead of the next Federal election.
Mr Chester said Mr Cobb has been the Coalition’s Agriculture spokesman since 2008 and was well aware of the issues local farmers are facing.
“I’m sure there are a number of local farmers keen to speak with John about Australian farm productivity and viability into the future,” Mr Chester said.
“I encourage them to come along and put their ideas to him ahead of the next election.”
The Farmers Forum will be held at the Stratford Mechanics Hall, Hobson Street, Stratford, from 2pm on Thursday, August 1, 2013.

In addition to the forum, Mr Chester will introduce Mr Cobb to Yarram farmers at a roundtable discussion and meet with the One Gippsland group in Maffra.
