BEMM RIVER RESIDENTS DISCUSS LOCAL ISSUES WITH CHESTER

October 28, 2013

Bemm River Progress and Improvement Association members have discussed their ideas and aspirations for the town and surrounds with Federal Member for Gippsland Darren Chester.

Mr Chester met with association members who outlined their community priorities.

Mr Chester said a wide range of Local, State and Federal Government issues were raised and the group was keen to pursue proposals to increase tourism to the town, which is already a popular destination for recreational anglers.

“Bemm River is a great place to take the kids camping or fishing and the progress association is working on town improvements to attract a greater number of visitors,” Mr Chester said.

“Membership of the group is strong and they were keen to push the case on a number of matters which they believe need to be rectified by government.

“I’ll be pursuing these matters with the relevant bodies and I’m keen to continue working with the group to help raise the profile of the town.”
