The Bruthen community is set to benefit from a $1.07 million upgrade to the Bruthen Recreation Reserve.

Federal Member for Gippsland Darren Chester said this transformational project would upgrade existing amenities as well as providing additional amenities for club members.

“The project will also include the construction of a second netball court to cater for the expanding club and encourage more women and girls to play netball in our community, promoting healthy active lifestyles,” Mr Chester said.

“There will be many people in Bruthen and district who will be pleased to see this upgrade get underway.

“Well done to the team of volunteers who worked hard to secure additional funding for facilities.

“Bruthen is a growing community and the recreation reserve is an important hub for a range of activities.

“I’m determined to keep getting stuff done across East Gippsland and if more funding is required for projects that make our region a better place to live, work, visit and raise a family.”
