The Nationals Member for Gippsland Darren Chester today congratulated Councillor Alan Hall on his election as the new mayor of Wellington Shire Council.
Mr Chester also congratulated Councillor Malcolm Hole on his election as deputy mayor.
“I am looking forward to working with Cr Hall as the new mayor and Cr Hole as his deputy at Wellington Shire Council,” Mr Chester said.
“I have been working with Councillor Carolyn Crossley during her two consecutive terms as mayor and with Councillor Ian Bye as deputy mayor on many great projects involving both the council and the Federal Government.
“These include the $14.5 million Port of Sale redevelopment, which has been fully operational since the start of this year, and the $3.6 million synthetic hockey field and pavilion at the Gippsland Regional Sports Complex in Sale, which was officially opened last week.
“I am sure this productive working relationship will continue with Cr Hall and Cr Hole in these leadership positions as we complete other projects, including more than $200 million in construction work at RAAF Base East Sale and Rosedale streetscape works and Willow Park upgrade, worth $1.5 million.
“I want to thank and congratulate Cr Crossley and Cr Bye for their hard work and service to the Wellington community.”
