Federal Member for Gippsland Darren Chester caught up with a young Gippsland winner of the ABC’s Heywire competition in Parliament House.
Heywire is a lived experience storytelling competition run by the ABC, calling for stories from young people aged between 16-22 years in regional, rural and remote Australia.
Lara Tincknell from Swan Reach, wrote about her experiences in the Black Summer bushfires and last week she was in Canberra meeting other winners from across the nation.
Lara has a big year of VCE studies ahead. She is one of the school captains at Bairnsdale Secondary College and is planning a career in allied health.
