Local MP Darren Chester this week delivered new flags to Swan Reach Primary School and presented student leaders with certificates.

Mr Chester also spent some time listening to the preps tell stories about their families.

He told students to dream big and work hard and encouraged them to show good leadership within their school and the local community.

Mr Chester also got the chance to meet star pupil, two year old Monty.

“Monty the golden retriever is a therapy dog who spends a lot of time in classrooms, and in the playground, providing comfort and support to children who may experience anxiety or health issues,” Mr Chester said.

“He’s a calming influence on students and staff and a welcome addition to the education experience for everyone at Swan Reach Primary School.

“Swan Reach Primary School is a terrific school with a great atmosphere and it is a credit to everyone in the school community.”
