The much-anticipated Churchill hockey pavilion is nearing completion with the roof cladding now finished.
Federal Member for Gippsland Darren Chester announced $200,000 from the Federal Government to fund the new clubrooms.
“The external wall cladding is now underway and the electrical and plumbing services are being installed,” Mr Chester said.
“Things are progressing well and I know the community is keen to see this building finished and ready for use.
“In the past, players had been forced to get changed in their cars or a nearby bus shelter.
“Those days will soon be over: this pavilion will provide Churchill Hockey Club and Latrobe Valley Hockey Association with state-of-the-art facilities.”
The Churchill hockey pavilion is a $1.7 million project and is due to be finished by the end of October.
