Construction to improve amenities on Bullock Island in Lakes Entrance is underway according to local MP Darren Chester (pictured).
Mr Chester said he secured $5 million from the previous Federal Government to get work underway with East Gippsland Shire Council and the Victorian State Government also contributing funding.
“The new bridge, renewed sea walls, walking trails, car parks and associated facilities will make a real difference for locals and visitors,” Mr Chester said.
“The island is a great spot to enjoy fishing and bird watching and improving amenities makes it an even more attractive location.
“The works will complement the on-water café developed by LEFCOL and eventually turn the eyesore into a high quality precinct for all.”
