New funding is available to Gippsland aged care providers to update facilities.
Federal Member for Gippsland Darren Chester has encouraged local providers to apply for one-off grants of up to $500,000 to undertake infrastructure projects.
“Whether it’s improving accessibility, extending a kitchen or carrying out much-needed upgrades, I urge local operators to consider applying,” Mr Chester said.
The Aged Care Regional, Rural and Remote Infrastructure Grants scheme is a new funding program introduced by the Federal Government to provide the best quality aged care.
“Existing government-approved residential and home care providers can apply,” Mr Chester said.
“Approved Commonwealth Home Support Programme providers such as Meals On Wheels may also be eligible, where there is an exceptional need.”
Applications for the Aged Care Regional, Rural and Remote Infrastructure Grants will close at 2pm on October 24, 2018. Funding will be provided via an open and competitive application process.
