Round two of the Supporting Agricultural Shows and Field Days program opens on January 28, 2022.

Federal Member for Gippsland Darren Chester said the funding would support show societies with a much-needed cash injection after another year of disruptions.

“Show societies faced another tough year with numerous lockdowns and restrictions making it near impossible to run events,” Mr Chester said.

“Agricultural shows and field days provide such a boost to the local economy by bringing visitors to the area and an opportunity to showcase the latest innovations and technology.

“This funding will help recoup costs and prepare for another year of agricultural shows and events.”

Applicants will be able to claim for eligible expenditure incurred for events cancelled in the period from January 1, 2021 to December 31, 2021 due to the COVID – 19 pandemic up to maximum capped amounts below:

  • Small agricultural shows and field days – up to 1,999 attendees – grants up to $10,000
  • Medium agricultural shows and field days – 2,000 to 4,999 attendees – up to $15,000
  • Large agricultural shows and field days – 5,000 attendees and up – up to $70,000
