A new service for those needing mental health care and support in Wellington is now officially open.
Local MP Darren Chester said the new clinic would provide welcome assistance to Gippslanders who were struggling.
“The HeadtoHelp hub will assess and provide mental health care and connect patients to professional support teams,” Mr Chester said.
“The hub aims to assist people of all ages to take the first steps towards finding mental health and wellbeing support.
“It has been a difficult year for many and providing this additional care will help those struggling with their mental health.
“It’s important we break down the stigma surrounding mental health so people can get the help they need.
“The sooner people talk about their mental health, the sooner they can get the support they need to help them move forward and feel stronger.”
HeadtoHelp is a free service funded by the Federal Government and supported by Gippsland Primary Health Network.
The HeadtoHelp hub is located at the Sale Medical Centre, 10 Inglis Street, Sale.
