Volunteers at Rosedale Community Care have received a welcome boost to strengthen their efforts, enhance volunteer involvement, and provide greater support to local families doing it tough through the organisation’s vital foodbank program.
Federal Member for Gippsland Darren Chester has delivered a $1,600 grant through the 2024-25 Volunteer Grants Program to support Rosedale Community Care in attracting and engaging more volunteers and strengthening its capacity to help local families in need.
“Rosedale Community Care is a local charity dedicated to supporting individuals and families in need, providing food to anyone seeking assistance and connecting people with additional services and support networks,” Mr Chester said.
“Through its volunteers and community partnerships, Rosedale Community Care plays a vital role in helping vulnerable members of the community access the help they need.
“Regional communities, including towns like Rosedale, rely on the hard work and generosity of volunteers, but often they find it hard to get the support they need.
“This funding will help Rosedale Community Care continue the incredible work of its volunteers, encourage more people to get involved, and strengthen the organisation’s ability to support local families who are doing it tough.”
Rosedale Community Care is one of 21 not-for-profit community organisations across Gippsland to share in more than $63,000 as part of the Federal Government’s 2024-25 Volunteer Grants Program.
Mr Chester said the program serves as a small recognition of the dedication and effort put in by the local volunteers who give their time and energy to help build stronger, more cohesive communities.
“Volunteers are the backbone of our regional communities, and organisations like Rosedale Community Care simply couldn’t operate without their passion and commitment,” Mr Chester said.
“These grants help make it a little easier for local groups to continue the important work they do every day.”
