Federal Member for Gippsland Darren Chester says the multi-million upgrade of the Lakes Entrance foreshore is starting to take shape and will be welcomed by visitors and locals alike.

Mr Chester inspected progress on the latest section of shared pathway to be constructed under the joint Federal-State Government funded program.

“Enhancing the esplanade to make it more attractive for locals and visitors will encourage more people to get active and enjoy everything our region has to offer,” Mr Chester said.

“Over the last three years, we’ve been able to make the highway through town safer for pedestrians and cyclists while improving the amenity of the foreshore itself.

“There’s more work to be done but I’m confident we are heading in the right direction with several local projects underway.”
