The Lakes Entrance community is invited to have its say on VicRoads preferred options for the Princes Highway and Myer Street intersection.

The Nationals Member for Gippsland Darren Chester is encouraging local residents, and those who regularly holiday in the area, to participate in VicRoads online survey by the end of this month.

Mr Chester has previously announced Federal funding for road safety improvements to the Esplanade as part of a $50 million upgrade of the Princes Highway from Sale to the New South Wales border.

“VicRoads has held community consultation sessions which identified pedestrian safety and a lack of overtaking opportunities as key concerns in Lakes Entrance and further east.

“I know there is some community concern about the proposals put forward by VicRoads, particularly in relation to the Myer Street intersection, and it’s important that locals utilise the opportunity available through the formal consultation process to register these concerns.

“I have a keen interest in this proposal and encourage everyone to have their say to ensure we get the best outcome for our community.”

The community is invited to have its say on the preferred option by taking part in an online survey by visiting www.vicroads.vic.gov.au/planning-and-projects/regional-road-projects/princes-highway-east-lakes-entrance

Based on feedback VicRoads will determine a full design that will be presented to the community by July.
