LAKES PHOTO COMPETITION PROVES POPULAR

October 17, 2013

More than 250 images of Gippsland’s waterways have been submitted to the Love Our Lakes photo competition.

The competition, organised by Federal Member for Gippsland Darren Chester and the Gippsland Lakes Ministerial Advisory Committee, has two weeks left to run.

Mr Chester said the entries so far showcase the diversity of catchments across Gippsland.

“It’s great to see such a strong response to the competition,” Mr Chester said.

“A wide variety of photos have been received from people of all ages and of different parts of our region.

“I’d encourage any Gippslander who has a great shot of our local waterways to enter before the closing date.”

The Love Our Lakes photo competition is open to all ages and entries will be received until October 31, 2013.

Thirteen winning images will be selected to appear in Mr Chester’s 2014 Calendar of Gippsland which will be launched at the Gippsland Lakes Ministerial Advisory Committee’s Love Our Lakes forum in Lakes Entrance on November 15, 2013.

Competition prizes include accommodation packages at McMillans of Metung, Captains Cove in Paynesville and Bridges on Argyle in Traralgon. Younger entrants can also win an iPad mini or iTunes vouchers.
