Students at Woodside Primary School were encouraged to aim high and lead by example when The Nationals Member for Gippsland Darren Chester called in recently.

Mr Chester spoke to the school about leadership qualities and the role of leaders in school.

He also explained to grade five and six students the role of governments and Australia’s electoral system.

Mr Chester said the students were eager to participate and had been well prepared with political questions.

He commended their behaviour and enthusiasm.

Mr Chester and principal Anne Morris are pictured with schools captains Robbie Sunderland and Emilie Bassett holding the Australian flag with grade five and six students watching on (left to right) Alex Walpole, Stacey Richardson, Mitch Selby, Reuban Baldwin, Ronan Doyle, Josh Morgan, Nathan Richardson, Lauren Tschugguel, Ebonee Bragg, Ellie Thunder and Wade Thunder.
