Lindenow farmer Bill Bulmer has been unanimously elected to the position of AUSVEG Chair.

A third generation vegetable grower, Mr Bulmer is Director of Bulmer Farms and currently sits on the Executive Committee of AUSVEG VIC and the Horticulture Committee of the Victorian Farmers’ Federation.

The Nationals Member for Gippsland Darren Chester has congratulated Mr Bulmer and said it was a coup for the local industry to have a representative in the chair.

“Bill has been a long-standing advocate for the industry, while operating his own business at Lindenow,” Mr Chester said.

“He has worked alongside governments of all levels to promote local produce and achieve the necessary support for farmers in time of need, particularly following floods and fire.

“I have worked with Bill on many occasions and know first-hand of his passion for the industry and commitment to achieve to the highest standards.

“I have no doubt he will excel in the new role as an advocate for AUSVEG, representing Australian vegetable and potato growers in the year ahead.”
