Federal Member for Gippsland Darren Chester has expressed his condolences on behalf of the wider Gippsland community to the family and friends of people killed in the Malaysian Airlines disaster.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with all those touched by this tragedy,” Mr Chester said.
“In particular our deepest condolences go to the family and friends of Mary and Gerry Menke and the wider Mallacoota community. All of Gippsland is thinking of you during this terrible period.
“No words can ease the grief of those who have lost loved ones in this terrible tragedy, however the Australian Government is determined to find out exactly what happened and to make sure those responsible will be held to account.”
