Secondary school students at Catholic College Sale will benefit from newly renovated learning areas and a new administration area, including a lift, with the official opening today.
Federal Member for Gippsland Darren Chester secured $2 million from the Federal Government, boosted by $9.1 million from Catholic College Sale for the redevelopment.
Mr Chester said it was great to visit Catholic College and see the new facilities firsthand and the impact it would have on students’ learning potential.
“Students and the whole school community would benefit from these new facilities,” Mr Chester said.
“We’re fortunate across Gippsland to have some wonderful teaching staff, and access to the latest technologies and resources helps to achieve better results.
“These new learning spaces take into account the latest in educational research and will see students learn more effectively.
“This is part of the Federal Government’s commitment to ensuring students have the support they need to succeed in the classroom.
“Students and teachers thrive when their schools have modern and up-to-date facilities.”
The funding was provided through the Federal Government’s Capital Grants Program, which funds new facilities in schools that may not have the capacity to fully self-fund.
