More than 7000 people have already visited the Port of Sale nearly two weeks since the $14.6 million redevelopment opened to the public on January 6.

The cultural centre, which includes a new library and regional art gallery, has a focus on “bringing artwork to the people,” and will feature strategically placed, changing exhibitions including this one in the new civic space.

Federal Member for Gippsland Darren Chester is pictured with Wellington Shire Mayor Carolyn Crossley inspecting an exhibition of prints featuring well known artists Nicholas Chevalier and Eugene Von Guerard, whose work is also displayed in the National Gallery.

Visitor numbers are expected to approach 10,000 when the precinct is officially opened during a free community event on Saturday January 27 from 10am to 4pm.
