The Sale branch of the Country Women’s Association (CWA) recently installed Federal Member for Gippsland Darren Chester as its inaugural branch patron at a morning tea celebration.

While at the morning tea, Mr Chester also took the opportunity to present a flag to branch members. Mr Chester said he was honoured to become the first patron of the Sale CWA branch.

“CWA branches across rural and regional Australia are recognised for their hard work and dedication to improve their communities,” Mr Chester said.

“They are responsible for the establishment of community minded initiatives such as funding scholarships for nurses to work in rural and regional areas through cookbook sales.

“The members display a real sense of volunteer spirit by putting a great deal of time, energy and effort into their roles and it is a pleasure to be involved with the CWA as a branch patron.”

Anyone seeking further information about the Sale CWA can contact the branch by phone on 5143 2656.
