Federal Member for Gippsland Darren Chester recently met with Catholic College student, Madeline Youl at RAAF Base East Sale to check out the RAAF Boeing Business Jet.
After speaking with Madeline about her dream of joining the Australian Defence Force as a RAAF air crew attendant, Mr Chester organised an inside tour of the jet for her.
“Madeline is currently involved with the RAAF air force cadets and has a keen interest in joining the Australian Defence Force,” Mr Chester said.
“The tour provided Madeline with the opportunity to speak with current serving members of the Australian Defence Force.
“I hope this opportunity provided Madeline with valuable insight into the role of a RAAF air crew attendant and assisted with her decisions about her future career .”
Mr Chester said the Australian Air Force Cadets was supported by RAAF and aims to inspire young Australians, like Madeline, to seek a career in the Australian Defence Force.
“The Air Force cadets foster qualities that will enable cadets to become responsible young adults who make valuable contributions to the community,” Mr Chester said.
“The Federal Government is proud of what the Australian Air Force Cadets offers to young people and sees it as a tremendous investment in our youth and the future of defence in Australia.”
