Federal Member for Gippsland Darren Chester has welcomed students and teachers from St Paul’s Anglican Grammar School in Traralgon to Parliament House in Canberra during their visit to the nation’s capital.

Mr Chester met with the group to discuss the role of the Federal Parliament and answer questions about his work representing the Gippsland electorate.

“It was great to catch up with the students and teachers from St Paul’s during their visit to Canberra,” Mr Chester said.

“I always enjoy meeting Gippsland school groups who make the trip to Parliament — it’s a fantastic opportunity for students to learn more about how our democracy works and to see Parliament in action.”

Mr Chester thanked the staff for organising the visit and commended the students for their enthusiasm and engagement.

“Their thoughtful questions and genuine interest in current issues were impressive,” Mr Chester said.

“It’s always inspiring to see young Gippslanders taking such a strong interest in civic engagement and the future of our nation.”
