Stronger Communities Programme Round 10 Expression of Interest

Gippsland community organisations can apply for grants of up to $20,000 to help deliver local infrastructure projects under Round 10 of the #lovegippsland Stronger Communities Programme (SCP).

Federal Member for Gippsland Darren Chester has called for expressions of interest from eligible local groups, with grants of between $2,500 and $20,000 available across the electorate.

“In total, Gippsland has been allocated $150,000 for projects that deliver practical social benefits and strengthen local communities,” Mr Chester said.

“The Stronger Communities Programme has helped dozens of local organisations turn good ideas into worthwhile projects that increase participation, improve facilities and make our towns better places to live.

“Previous grants have supported projects such as the development of Sale’s Seed Community Garden, a wet-weather shelter at Bruthen Lions Park, extensions to the Gippsland Immigration Park Heritage Walk in Morwell, and improvements to the playground and picnic area at Mathison Park in Churchill.

“These are exactly the types of grassroots projects that make a real difference in regional communities.

“Local groups are very good at making every dollar stretch further, combining these grants with their own fundraising and volunteer effort to deliver projects that might otherwise be out of reach.”

Mr Chester urged potential applicants to carefully review the Round 10 guidelines before submitting an expression of interest.

“Projects must meet the eligibility requirements and directly align with at least one of the program objectives,” Mr Chester said.

“I encourage any community organisation considering an application to check the guidelines early and make sure their proposed project is eligible.”

Expressions of interest are now open and will close at 5pm on Monday, November 23, 2026.

EOIs will be assessed by a Community Consultation Committee, with shortlisted organisations invited to submit a full application.
