The home of Gippsland Veterans Welfare Centre in Sale is about to receive a new roof thanks to a $120,000 Federal Government grant.

The Sale RSL has successfully applied for funding under the government’s ‘Veteran and Community Grants’ program which is aimed at helping veterans and their families to enjoy healthy, active lifestyles and good overall well-being.

Federal Member for Gippsland Darren Chester congratulated RSL president Marty Tanzer (both pictured) on his organisation’s outstanding work to support veterans.

“The Gippsland Veterans Welfare Centre does a terrific job to advocate for veterans and run activities which improve the social life and community involvement of ex-serving men and women,” Mr Chester said.

“This much-needed funding will improve the amenity of the centre which has a leaking roof in desperate need of replacement.”
