CHESTER WELCOMES NEW WELLINGTON SHIRE CEO APPOINTMENT

June 22, 2009

The appointment of Tim Johnson as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for Wellington Shire Council has been welcomed by The Nationals Member for Gippsland Darren Chester.

Mr Chester congratulated Tim and said he possesses the right attributes for the role, which will be vacated when current CEO Lyndon Webb retires at the end of August.

“I’d like to congratulate Tim on his appointment as the new CEO of Wellington Shire,” Mr Chester said.

“I believe Tim has the energy, enthusiasm and exposure to areas of Local Government that will enable him to do a great job.”

Mr Chester said Wellington Shire will be well served by Tim who has gained plenty of experience when working throughout the different regions of Gippsland.

“Tim has the experience and knowledge of Gippsland that will enable him to hit the ground running when he takes the reigns,” Mr Chester said.

“He has been a local resident of Sale, has experience working within Latrobe City Council and has worked in East Gippsland.

“I’m confident in his ability to continue promoting the best interests of Wellington Shire and I’m looking forward to working in partnership with him in the near future.”

Mr Chester also wished Lyndon Webb well as he embarks on the next chapter in his life.

“Lyndon Webb has been an outstanding servant to the local community over a number of years,” Mr Chester said.

“I’d like to congratulate him on his achievements and wish him all the best in his retirement.”
