A fundraising drive to build the new Seaspray Surf Life Saving clubhouse has received a small boost thanks to a bit of luck and sharp eye from Gippsland MP Darren Chester.

The Federal MP made a personal $500 donation to the lifesaving club’s building fund tally at a recent visit, where he obtained an update on the project.

But that donation was bumped up to $520, after Mr Chester pledged he would also contribute a $20 note he found on the ground in Canberra recently.

“Whether it is a larger donation – or just loose change – every cent donated to the Seaspray Surf Life Saving Club will make a difference,” Mr Chester said.

“Our local surf lifesaving clubs do an outstanding job keeping our patrolled beaches safe every summer. This new building will provide our Seaspray volunteers with the best possible facilities while also providing a great new community space for everyone to enjoy.

“I can’t wait to see the final results of the club’s hard labour and generosity of businesses, individuals and government.”

To make a donation, contact the club via email seasprayslsc@gmail.com, phone 5146 4231 or Facebook.
