NEW ROUND OF TOURISM GRANTS OPEN

April 1, 2013

A new round of tourism grants of up to $100,000 to develop new industry opportunities has opened up to local operators.

The Nationals Member for Gippsland Darren Chester said the grants were aimed at boosting visitation through the improvement of visitors’ experience.

The grants offered through the Federal Government’s T-QUAL Grants – Tourism Quality Projects program, start at $15,000 and are capped at $100,000.

All require a matching contribution from applicants.

Mr Chester said the grants could also be used to fund feasibility studies to investigate the establishment of larger projects.

He said the benefits of improving the experience of visitors to the region and lifting the profile of local attractions spread beyond the tourism operators to small businesses.

Applications are open until Friday, May 3, 2013.

Anyone seeking further information about the Government’s T-QUAL Grants – Tourism Quality Projects program should log on to www.ret.gov.au/tqual or contact Mr Chester’s Sale office on 1300 131 785 for a copy of the eligibility guidelines and application form.
