CHESTER VISITS COMMERCIAL ROAD PRIMARY SCHOOL

April 18, 2013

Commercial Road Primary School Grade 5/6 students setup their own version of the House of Representatives today during a visit from local MP Darren Chester.

The students are currently studying Local, State and Federal Governments and Mr Chester was invited to the school to discuss the Australian Parliamentary process and his life as a politician.

“It’s the first time I’ve been to a school where students had created their own version of the floor of Parliament,” Mr Chester said.

“You could tell that the students had been working hard by how well versed they were in how the different levels of government operate.

“It’s a positive for the region that the next generation of leaders are taking a strong interest in how communities are run at a local, State and National level.”
