Federal Member for Gippsland Darren Chester delivered new flags to Eagle Point Primary School and gave grade six students an overview of Australia’s political system ahead of their school camp to Canberra.
Mr Chester is pictured with school captain Hannah Svetey and Enzo Blackmore discussing the history and symbolisms of the Australian flag.
Mr Chester also spoke to students about the responsibilities of different levels of government and the role of politicians who are elected to represent their communities.
He told students to dream big and work hard, encouraging the class to show good leadership within their school and within their local community.
