CONSTRUCTION STARTS AT SALE NETBALL COMPLEX

October 29, 2009

Construction is set to start on a multi-million dollar indoor sports centre and netball complex on Cobains Road, Sale.

The Nationals Member for Gippsland Darren Chester has described the Federal Government’s decision to provide $3.25 million funding for the indoor sports centre in Sale as a victory for people power.

A sod turning ceremony will be held next week hosted by Wellington Shire Council.

“This project is a good example of all three levels of government working together for a positive outcome for our region,” Mr Chester said.

“It is a reward for effort for the community which rallied to call on the Federal Government to provide funding during last year’s by-election campaign.

“I’m looking forward to the successful completion of the project. It will deliver enormous benefits to a range of sporting groups, particularly the Sale Netball Association which has worked so hard to achieve this outcome.”
