Federal Member for Gippsland Darren Chester (pictured) says East Gippsland Rail Trail sealing and surface upgrades will be a boost for locals and visitors.
Mr Chester said the Federal Government was providing the bulk of the funding for more than $3 million worth of works on the popular 100km trail from Bairnsdale to Orbost.
Local firm Cranes Asphalting was undertaking sealing work on the trail near Nicholson last week along with major surface and drainage upgrades near Bruthen.
